“We left our German Shorthair Pointer here for 8 days while out of state. The place looked very clean and kennels were clean and nice. Staff was also very nice. We will defiantly go there again. Best place we found in the area so far.”

“Everyone at Colonial was wonderful with our two crazy dogs! We used them for an extended stay while we were getting ready to move into our new home. They called right away when it looked like our Great Dane wasn't eating much so we could add some wet food topper to get him back to eating. Both dogs appeared happy and healthy when we picked them up after 20 days! Will definitely be using Colonial again when we go on vacation.”

“We brought our German Shepherd puppy here for training and for the occasional daycare stays. He has gone through beginner and intermediate obedience with Maria and she has a lot of patience and trains using mostly positive reinforcement and correction only when really needed. As for the daycare Jax seems really happy there and enjoys playing with the other dogs. The girls in the daycare seem to really love the dogs and enjoy spending time with them. We are considering future training here”

“Kathy did an excellent job today grooming my 1yo rescue German Shepherd. She even clipped his front nails which really needed to be done, and something his Veterinarian stated they were unable to do. The Veterinarian had actually prescribed anti-anxiety medication and told us to bring him back in a couple weeks and give him 3 or 4 pills to drug him up prior to the appointment so they could clip his nails. Thanks to Kathy’s experience and expertise, I didn’t have to medicate him at all. Koda is completely chilled out and a happy camper right now! Outstanding service all around by all the staff we encountered.”

“My Goldendoodle puppy is WILD. But, thanks to Colonial K9, our dog is showing noticeably better control on the leash after doing a week of training here. He even learned some new commands and does them every time! I`m so impressed. All of the staff are warm and friendly and it's obvious that they care and love dogs.”

“We needed to board our three dogs but only gave a weeks notice. The staff at Colonial K-9 were exceptionally patient when I needed to get my dogs shot records to them literally an hour before our scheduled boarding. Once my husband arrived, Beth was absolutely amazing!!! She gave him a quick tour and helped to get all three dogs settled into their kennel. I was super happy that they were all kept together because they all suffer from separation anxiety. When we picked them up, Beth was there manning the front desk. She was super helpful and patient (our dogs are kind of obnoxious). She even helped us to get their leashes and collars attached then walked them out to our truck.
This is by far the cleanest and most well organized kennel we've ever used. We give Colonial K-9 two enthusiastic thumbs up and a strong five star rating. We will definitely use this kennel in the future.”

“We had our two dogs groomed at Colonial K9 (note: we have not tried boarding yet - this review is only for grooming). Kathy, their groomer, was fantastic. She listened to everything we requested for our two girls and she did an amazing job. They came out smelling great and it was the perfect trim. The dogs were not anxious at all as they were groomed together in a quiet area. In terms of cost, they are right on par with the other local groomers in Stafford and you walk away with a quality cut.
We couldn't pick our two up right away, so they got to spend some time in a kennel run and were perfectly content when we picked them up - they seemed very calm and relaxed - plus on a hot day it was perfectly air conditioned and well kept on the inside.
We will be bringing them back for future grooming and if the need arises, I can see us boarding them there as well!.”

“The only place so far that I would trust in boarding our working dog. Love the kennel set-up... there's a doggy door where they're able to be both indoors and outdoors... it's climate-controlled which is awesome! And another thing I like is they don't let two dogs that don't know each other make contact.”

“My doggies loved it here! They stayed for three days while we moved (didn't want to risk them getting hurt or loose in the process). Their kennel was clean when I picked them up, and I had to wait upon arrival because their food dishes from home were being washed - very impressed with the overall cleanliness of this place! The kennels appear well-organized when you walk in with each animal's info posted at their kennel door. The staff was super friendly and very helpful in answering any questions I had!”

“I use them all the time. I like that they let me board my dog with the neighbor's dog and they don't have an issue that they eat different dog food. I also love that you can pick up your dog by 12 PM the next day and not get charged the whole day.”

“We left our puppy here over Christmas break! Needless to say we will be leaving him here again. This place was very clean and each dog had plenty of room. The price was around 240 before the military discount. The staff was very friendly and helpful. He came home super tired and seemed to have had a good time!”

“We have been going to Colonial K-9 for the past two years after a friend recommended them to us and have always been pleased with the service and facilities.
We don't have any experience with their training services, but we always use them when we need to kennel our two dogs. The kennels are clean, the staff are friendly, and our dogs are always excited to go there. Unlike kennels in other places we've lived, we've never had an issue with the dogs getting kennel cough or coming home with any other issues.
Overall, we highly recommend them and we always feel good leaving our dogs with them.”

“I would HIGHLY recommend Colonial K-9 to anyone that is looking to have their dog trained, boarded or simply to socialize with other dogs. My husband and I have been using Colonial K-9 for about 3 years now. We first started using the doggy day care for our Staffordshire terrier Mojo and he absolutely loves it! He gets to play with other dogs while we are at work. We also signed him up for the 6 week obedience class with Theresa (the owner) and could not have been happier with the end result! Not only did he learn a variety of commands and better manners, but at the end of the 6 weeks, on the day of pick up, Theresa taught us all as a family how to apply what was taught to Mojo. He was like a new dog! We have a 6 month old daughter and were a bit concerned as to how this was going to work, having a new baby with a less than one year old dog but sending our fur baby to this course was the best thing we could have done and worth EVERY penny! Theresa and her staff are always super friendly and you can just tell that they all love animals ( and Mojo loves them as well). Thank you Colonial K-9!!”

“just wanted to give a shout out to Kathy who groomed 2 of my dogs today, both had been neglected for months due to my falling health and all I managed to do was bath them causing their fur to mat even more. I have a cockerpoo and a standard yorkie. Kathy spent several hours clipping dipping shampooing and conditioning my boys, they look like a million bucks.
I'm am grateful for your patience, suggesting the right flea medications and your knowledge of time between treatments.

“Boarded all 4 dogs for the 1st time at Colonial K9 and they loved it!! My dogs never stayed away from home overnight before and I was concerned about how they would handle it. The staff addressed all of my questions and assured me all was going to be and it was. The staff asked pertinent questions and followed instructions regarding feeding my dogs. My dogs eat a raw diet and the staff stored the food probably and followed instructions to a T!
Also, had my dogs groomed and they look and smell amazing!
When I picked my dogs up they were clean, calm yet happy to see me! I highly recommend Colonial K9 for all of your dog care needs!

“A great place to store your dog when you travel. You get him back when you return in the same or better condition. They feed him and stuff and teach him new things sometimes if you want them to. So it's like getting an upgraded dog without having to go shopping for a new one. Best dog storage place in the area!”
