Is your dog constantly on the prowl for squirrels, moles and any other critters that appear in your backyard? Is your dog's nose always getting them into trouble? If so, they should be a natural for the fun sport of Barn Hunt. This dog sport requires little prior training. It is based on the hunting and teamwork skills historically used by "rat catchers", who rid farms of vermin. Dogs and their handlers work as a team to locate and mark rats (which are always safely secured in PVC tubes) hidden in a maze of straw or hay bales. Barn hunt is also open to any dog of any breed or mix who wishes to play the game and can fit through an 18" wide by bale-height tall tunnel. It's a great sport for older dogs and people too! There is not a lot of physical effort needed on the part of the handler. Tripod and deaf dogs can even compete. $200 for 4-1 hour sessions
